Limited edition sculpture, edition 3 currently available (only 20 editions will be available) of Poulaphouca Bridge, Co. Wicklow. The frame is 49cm x 55cm x 4.5cm (14.5” x 17” x 1.7”).
This was a special request as a wedding gift for a cousin of mine, which I was very honoured to be asked to create. This piece was sculpted in clay and then moulded, I then cast, paint and frame each one. The casting of each piece makes every edition related, but, like siblings each has it’s own personality and imperfections which make it unique.
I really enjoy the sculpture element of my work but each piece I paint is influenced by my mood, the light and the weather outside. Some are sunny and bright and some are rainy and moody.
I love them all.
This piece was lovingly sculpted by hand in clay and then moulded, cast and painted to capture the life of this bridge. The first edition was commissioned as a wedding gift for a cousin of mine by her sisters. I really enjoyed working on it and think the piece is really special. The thin and fragile edges, the cracks and the weathered stone are all part of the tapestry of Ireland’s beautiful landscape, history and traditions. Everyone needs a little bit of Ireland to call their own.
This sculpture of Poulaphouca is a limited edition of 20 pieces, all made in my studio in the West of Ireland. Each piece is made individually so the colours and finish of each piece will vary. The photos are of edition 3 of 20.
Shipping within Ireland costs €8 with An Post, parcels are tracked and delivery is usually within 2-3 working days. (Christmas shipping schedules may have longer delivery periods.)
Shipping outside Ireland costs €70 using the postal service, parcels are tracked. Delivery to the USA takes 3-4 weeks on average. Please note that all shipments going outside the EU may be liable for import duties.
