This drawing began with the Ghost Window created from painting edition 1 of my sculpture based on Mellifont Abbey, Co. Louth.
The “Ghosts” are created as I am painting my sculptures. The excess paint runs off the surface onto the paper, leaving a ghostly outline of sorts based on the pattern of the piece I am working on. These impressions are made on watercolour paper using acrylic paint and serve as a unique record of the making process.
In this series I decided to explore that idea further. I drew the window outline in fine liner directly over the Ghost, creating a visual connection between the sculpture and the drawing.
Presentation
The artwork is double-mounted using acid free mountboard, a cream outer layer with a black inner layer to beautifully frame the piece. It is ready to pop into any standard 2″ x 16″ (30.5cm x 40.6cm) frame and hang straight on your wall!

Care Instructions
To ensure the artwork stays in excellent condition, I recommend framing it behind glass or acrylic to protect it from dust and dirt. Please avoid hanging in direct sunlight as this would cause the colours to fade over time.
