Sculpted in 2022, this piece is based on the Monk’s Fishing Hut at Cong, Co. Mayo.
This little building is actually in the river Cong! It was built on a platform of stones around the 15th Century and has survived the battering of the river ever since! There is a small hole in the floor where you can see the water flowing past and and fireplace beside it. It’s funny to think of men fishing beside a fire! Edition 2/20 is currently available.
The frame is 37cm x 43cm x 4.5cm (14.5” x 17” x 1.7”).
This piece was sculpted in clay and then moulded, each edition is then cast, painted and framed. This process makes all 20 editions related, but, like siblings each has it’s own personality and imperfections which make it unique.

This sculpture of The Monks Fishing Hut is a limited edition of 20 pieces, all made in my studio in the West of Ireland. Each piece is made individually so the colours and finish of each piece will vary. The photos are of edition 2 of 20.
Shipping within Ireland costs €8 with An Post, parcels are tracked and delivery is usually within 2-3 working days.
Shipping outside Ireland costs €40 using the postal service, parcels are tracked. Delivery to the USA takes 3-4 weeks on average. Please note that all shipments going outside the EU may be liable for import duties.
